Mediation Act 2023 lecture

The Pro Bono Club at the Faculty of Law, University Of Lucknow is honoured to host an enlightening lecture on the theme “Redefining Justice Delivery: The Mediation Act, 2023” on 25th September 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM via Google Meet. This event will offer valuable insights into the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism, with a specific focus on the skills to resolve disputes through Mediation, an indispensable skill for aspiring legal professionals.

About the Club

The Pro Bono Club established at the Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow in 2023 works under the aegis of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India. It aims to promote and facilitate Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Club Scheme) Programme in India. It encourages lawyers, law firms, and law students to engage in pro bono work and contribute to the access to justice for marginalised and underprivileged sections of society.

About the Speaker

Mr. Siddharth Shankar Dubey is an accredited civil/commercial arbitrator and an Advocate in the High Court of Judiciature at Allahabad, Lucknow Bench, Lucknow since July 2017. Besides this, he has also been a registered advocate under the Alumni Nyaya Bandhu Panel.

With credentials such as recognition as a Counsel for the Lucknow Municipal Corporation, Lucknow and a State Law Officer in the government of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Siddharth brings a wealth of experience to the session.

Some highlights of his remarkable journey include:

  • Standing Counsel at UPSC, Election Commission since August 2025.

  • Government Advocate at Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO).

  • Founder Advisor of Adhyayan Foundation for Policy and Research.

  • Active involvement as an Advisory Board Member at Think India from July 2017 — June 2019.

Mr. Siddharth’s prowess extends to be featured in The Daily Guardian, along with Justice (retd.) Jyotsna Sharma for the plausible interpretation of Places of Worship Act, 1991 and Ancient Monuments Act, 1958 along with delivering presentations across diverse areas of law, making him a beacon of knowledge in dispute resolution practices.
