Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, through its Student Law Journal (SLJ), in collaboration with Singhania & Co. and TheLegalVoice, announces the DNLU—SLJ Essay Writing Competition 2025 on the theme “Contemporary Developments in Corporate and Commercial Law.” The competition invites entries from law students and researchers across India.

About the Competition

The Dharmashastra National Law University — Student Law Journal (DNLU-SLJ) in collaboration with Singhania & Co. and The Legal Voice (as Knowledge Partner) is pleased to announce the DNLU-SLJ Essay Writing Competition 2025 on the theme “Contemporary Developments in Corporate and Commercial Law.” The competition aims to foster academic engagement and analytical writing among students and research scholars in exploring the evolving dimensions of corporate and commercial jurisprudence and its intersections with other legal domains.

Theme of the Competition – Contemporary Developments in Corporate and Commercial Law

Indicative Sub-Themes

The following sub-themes are merely indicative areas of consideration for submissions. The authors are free to delve into any subject matter of contemporary relevance under the following subthemes

·Mergers & Acquisitions

·Private Equity and Venture Capital

·Global Competition Law and Antitrust Regimes

·Cross-Border Insolvency and Restructuring

·International Capital Markets

·International Banking and Finance Laws

·Cross-border Investment and Trade Laws

·Cross-Border Commercial Dispute Resolution

·ESG Compliance in Corporate Law

Eligibility

·Students/Research Scholars enrolled in any UG/PG/Ph.D. course from recognized Indian universities.

·Co-authorship: Up to two authors allowed.

·Word Limit: 1500—2000 words (excluding footnotes).

·Citation Style: OSCOLA (4th Edition).

·Registration Fee: ₹300 (single author) | ₹500 (co-authorship).

Important Dates:

  • Commencement of Registration: 14 October 2025 (Tuesday)

  • Last Date for Registration: 5 November 2025 (Wednesday)

  • Submission Deadline: 9 November 2025 (Sunday)

  • Result Declaration: Last week of November 2025

Awards & Publications

· 1st Prize — ₹10,000 | 2nd Prize — ₹7,500 | 3rd Prize — ₹5,000

· Top 10 papers to be published in a Special Volume of DNLU Student Law Journal (ISSN 3048-7536).

· All participants will receive certificates of participation.

· TheLegalVoice will offer free courses worth ₹10,000 to the winners and a 20% discount to all participants on its courses.
