Peaceful Protest against Administration

The student fraternity at National Law University and Judicial Academy Assam (NLUJAA) has initiated a peaceful protest today. The protest is in response to multiple longstanding concerns regarding the administration.

The primary issues being protested include lack of transparency administration. The students’ claim that the administration has consistently failed to maintain transparency and has made arbitrary policies without informing or consulting the student body.

The students are also questioning the unfair academic policy. The university has recently imposed a minimum threshold for opting for specialization and optional subjects, given the small batch sizes of 55 to 60 students. This is being opposed as it is claimed this was never disclosed in the prospectus or at the time of the admission.

In addition to the above, the students are complaining of lack of proactive support for Internships and Placements from the University. They claim that the university has consistently failed to provide meaningful assistance with internship and recruitment. The students at NLUJAA are demanding a dedicated officer responsible for systemically engaging with recruiters, as with other NLUs. They are also seeking a resolution as to curtailed internship leaves, penalizing students seeking employment exposure.
