President's rule in J and K

On 13-10-2024, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification revoking the President’s rule in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir immediately before the appointment of Chief Minister.

Earlier, on 31-10-2019, the President, on receiving a report from the then Governor of State of Jammu and Kashmir, imposed President’s rule as a situation arose where the administration was not carried in accordance with the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019. In addition, the President had also appointed 2 Administrators for Union Territory of Ladakh with the designation of Lieutenant Governor.
